We are a lively and dedicated 4th section Brass Band based in Stockport, Cheshire.
We play at many concerts and contests in the North West region throughout the Banding year and are going from strength to strength, while helping to raise money for local charities.
The Band rehearse every Thursday from 7.45p.m.-9.45pm at Hazel Grove Civic Hall
The band had an excellent evening – despite the terrible weather. Wind and rain dampened the spirits of even the most hardy performers!
After entering six competitions the Band’s efforts were rewarded with four first places; at Broadoak, Denton, Hurst and Greenacres. With a third placing at Scouthead.
Well done to everyone!
After obtaining 3rd place plus best basses at the 2008 Buxton Contest the band had a lot to live up to and the pressure was on to perform well.
Another strong performance saw the Band awarded first place at the 2009 Contest. Well done all!
Fourth Section test piece: “The Talisman”, Composer: ‘Frank Hughes’
The band were pleased with a great third placed result at the Tameside Championships.
In a result that shocked everyone that attended the Band received a dismal placing that was thoroughly un-deserved
The Band are pleased to welcome back 3 ex-members who have successfully completed their University degree courses – John Owen, Amanda O’Brien and Matthew Bown.
